Exterior Painting Built for Pacific Northwest Weather
Exterior Painting That Protects & Beautifies
In Western Washington, exterior paint isn't just cosmetic, it's your home's first line of defense against rain, mildew, UV damage, and moisture intrusion. A quality exterior paint job done properly can last 10–15 years. Done poorly, it starts failing in 2–3.
We don't cut corners on prep. Power washing, scraping, caulking, sanding, and priming are just as important as the final coat, and we treat them that way. The result is a finish that looks beautiful and holds up season after season.
What's Included in an Exterior Job
Siding & Walls
Wood, fiber cement, stucco, T1-11, or vinyl, we know how to prep and paint every siding type properly for lasting results.
Trim, Fascia & Soffits
A crisp, contrasting trim color makes a home look polished and complete. We take our time to cut in clean, consistent lines.
Doors & Shutters
Front doors get careful preparation and a durable topcoat, often the most-touched surface on the exterior.
Garages & Outbuildings
Garages, sheds, barns, and outbuildings receive the same quality prep and paint as the main structure.
How We Do Exterior Right
Most paint failures start with inadequate prep. We do it the right way, every time.
Power Wash
The entire surface is cleaned to remove dirt, mildew, and chalking paint, essential for proper adhesion.
Scrape & Sand
Loose or failing paint is scraped away. Rough edges are feathered and sanded smooth.
Caulk & Patch
All gaps, cracks, and holes are caulked or patched to prevent moisture intrusion and ensure a smooth finish.
Prime
Bare wood, patches, and problem areas receive a quality primer coat for even coverage and adhesion.
Paint
Two coats of premium exterior paint applied at proper wet-film thickness for full protection and color depth.
Cleanup & Review
All paint, masking, and equipment removed. Final walkthrough with you to confirm every detail is right.
Exterior Painting FAQ
When is the best time to paint the exterior in the Pacific Northwest?
Late spring through early fall (May–September) is ideal. The paints we use require a minimum of 38°F to apply and cure properly, but warmer and drier is always better. We monitor the weather closely and schedule painting for the right window — we won't rush it and risk the finish.
How long does an exterior paint job last?
Honestly, it depends — anywhere from 5 to 15 years is realistic given our climate. We do things the right way because we're aiming for the longest life possible: proper prep, quality primer, premium paint. But our weather is tough, and we'd rather give you an honest range than overpromise. We'll give you our best assessment at the estimate.
Do you power wash before painting?
Always. Painting over dirt, mildew, or chalk is a waste of time and money. We power wash every exterior before we touch a brush or roller.
What happens if it rains during the job?
We monitor the weather closely and schedule painting for dry periods. If rain is in the forecast, we adjust our schedule rather than rush and risk the finish.
Do I need to be home during the exterior painting?
Usually not necessary. Most exterior work happens outside. We'll coordinate with you on any access needs (gates, outlets, etc.) beforehand.
